Hello everyone (:
I am somewhat new (okay maybe really new) to selling on Etsy and I’ve always wondered about different ways I can get my shop out there and promote it, so what better way to do this than by starting a grand opening giveaway!? I’ve read many blogs about how success giveaways can be to promoting your shop (and blog) and I wanted to do this while at the same time creating and doing what I love to do. Also, giving gifts is always fun!
So… I am excited to announce that the grand opening giveaway is officially open!
I’ve gathered up many different cute items for the giveaway and I can’t wait to get it started! Of course, since I’m really a big big fan of pretty packaging, all of these prizes will come nicely wrapped as if ready for gift giving! (or even just a gift for yourself)

RULES:
There are several ways on how to enter.
When entering, make sure that you leave separate comments for each different way. This increases the chances of winning.
Also include your email address on each comment so I have a way of contacting you if you don’t already have a website, blog, etc.
Here are some of the ways:
1. First, visit my etsy shop and then comment with one item you liked the most.
2. Comment with tips on how I can improve my etsy shop, or anything else about selling on Etsy.
3. Post a blog about this giveaway/feature it in a blog, OR post this image:

4. Make a purchase on my etsy shop then show me the transaction # (this will give you 4 extra comments – simply comment with the transaction # and what you purchased first, then go ahead and comment 4 more times freely about anything you want).
5. Tell a friend about my giveaway! Just leave a comment with who you told or who told you about this giveaway!

In terms of improving your shop, here are some ideas: (1) I think your pictures are great! Usually, pics are the area that needs improvement, but you've set them up beautifully. I especially like the addition of the fortune and other background items - it really sets a nostalgic mood; (2) Since your pieces of jewelry almost look like they have a story behind them, it could be interesting to write a little story about each one; (3) I honestly think your prices are too low for the quality and beauty of the jewelry you're selling. Low prices can seem like a good idea to start out with, but it tends to make me think the quality is low. You have such beautiful pictures and items, and the prices should reflect that.
Just some thoughts. I think it's also helpful to post new items often, since many people tend to be introduced to a shop when they watch the "new items added" feature on the Etsy home page.

Suggestions for your shop:
Your prices are too low. Do not undervalue your time and talent. Etsy is not a dollar store, and people do expect to pay more for handmade items of quality. Trust yourself that you ARE worth it!
Your photographs are beautifully laid out with props and prettiness. There is a bit of haze that could be cleared up easily by adjusting the sharpness or contrast. The soft blur does give a dreamy effect, but you really want to show off the detail of the lovely pieces.
Stock more items in that shop - try for at least 10-12 for your early days. People like to browse through.
Twitter is great for marketing. Comment on other Tweets and post your new listings, ask for advice, etc. Join an Etsy team as well.

Hm, I had a look at your shop, and firstly I was glad you sorted it into necklaces and pins - I've been to online stores where they haven't, and they've just been annoying to navigate. Can't really say much until you put more stuff in your shop... It would be good if you could put shipping costs - I didn't see them anywhere.

i think that first of all you have a great style going on and you present your work in a very nice way through pictures!
but in order to sell more you must put more items in your shop. otherwize it looks empty as if "nothing is going on"

My suggestion would be to stick with a plan background for taking pictures, I think the background looks to busy and doesn't let the item truely show the wonderfulness to it, or better yet have someone model wearing the items that way customers could see how big the necklace or item is. And having a wider selection of items helps too. I think your off to a good start though :) Good luck with your Shop!

Congratulations on your Etsy opening and entry into the blogging world. It's always nice to see other young people around who aren't stay-at-home moms with little kids!
Hm ... as for suggestions for your shop, I agree with some of the others in that your prices are probably a bit low. I'm a fan of your vintage-y and homey backgrounds, but I think the main images should be closer-ups of the products.
You should also try to clear up some of the haziness in some pictures. Consider using a white light source or taking the pictures in an area with more sunlight for brighter pictures.

As for some suggestions for your shop, I myself am a very inexperienced seller on etsy. Anywho, I'd say that you should keep adding items, that too at different times in a day, so as to get more views. Your pieces are all extremely gorgeous and I wish you all the best with 'she greets the day'.
PS- In the banner, maybe you could put space between each word in 'shegreetstheday' It is kinda hard to catch as it is right now.

I like the Pretty Little Things / necklace featuring different medias. It's very girly and unique.
I think the biggest thing you could do to improve is just get lots of inventory. As someone with an online business, I know people buy more than one thing if it's available to save on shipping. Also, I'm sure you do it, but packaging is very important. Make it look pretty, :)

Tips on selling on Etsy:
1. Offer a discount on special days like your birthday, Valentine's Day, Christmas etc.
2. Be active on the Etsy forum and post something like : "The 100th buyer will get a mysterious free gift." when you already have 90 sales right now.
3. Hold giveaways once in a while. People might notice your work and make a purchase.
4. Get interviewed and featured on someone else's blog.
5. (If you're willing to)Offer a cheap but beautiful item from your shop for a product review.

Luck Love and Life / pretty charms necklace is by far my favorite item! I love lockets and I love the mix of charms.
I would suggest making your banner a little easier to read. The checked background is a little distracting from the lettering.

i think your pictures are set up really well and are actually quite interesting! however i think you should make your items more expensive. you things are handmade and people will appreciate that and they will pay for it too! don't be afraid! i love your shop though!

As far as Etsy goes, I'm not a super success, but from what advice I've gotten from others, you need to be a presence on Etsy. Get involved, participate in treasuries, sales, etc. Be sure to use ALL your tags, and post or renew something daily so that when someone searches for you, you aren't at the bottom of the stack.
