Slowly but surely..

I haven't haven't have not posted on this blog in a long while. So much going on in my life that I just couldn't make time to blog or etsy or anything of that matter. Stressful nights, not just with school but with other personal reasons. Heart breaks, unnecessary drama, days and nights where I kept asking myself "why do I put myself through this?" It's been a few months since me and my adventure partner, cuddling buddy, advice giver, best friend and lover kind of went our separate ways, and since then I've had some good distractions in my life.

I know this sort of thing is just another life lesson in the road. I'm rather happy that I've had time in my life, but it just makes me sad that it's ended. Not only this, but so much more personal struggles kept piling up on top of this. I'll admit that this is what got me feeling negative. All the unhappy moments and feelings of regrets just kept adding up inside. Through out all of this, I felt like I lost a part of myself. It took me a while to reflect all that has happened, and to regain and recuperate. Now that that chapter's done, off to a new one :D and I must say I'm learning again how to live in the moment and not dwell on the past or worry so much about the future. It is on my mind at times, but all I can do is keep looking up and thinking positive!

So excited for wherever this life is taking me, and I'm thanking God for the people He's put into my life for constantly reminding me about His love and how good His grace is. God only gave me one life to live, so I'm making the best of every situation.

Now with that said and done, I'm officially back to blogging and sharing the GOOD things in life (and maybe the rough parts too). About 7 months later and I'm excited to be back and start building up this brand.
I'm probably a little bit rusty in this, but I view it as riding a bike ;D Once you get on and moving, you'll never really forget how to.

Speaking of bikes I got a beach cruiser the other day! I've been wanting one for a while and I couldn't help but get one. My great friend took me to get my new bike and after we picked it up, we headed straight for the beach to take out bikes for a spin. I'm in love with it and I can't wait to fix it up how I want it.

I want to make it as me as possible! Yay <3

So back to the blog and shop..

I'm not sure what I've got in store for the future just yet, but I've been browsing and reading some inspiring blogs and I'm getting an idea of what I'd like to do.

Helllooo!

I'm here, back from a busy past few months. Before, during, and even after my sister's wedding, it has been hectic with family over and always going out. I never really had a moment to sit and blog, or even browse through blogs. Now that it's all winding down and i finally get to start blogging/etsying/browsing for inspiration/etc, i've decided to start creating more and updating things again. BUT, the bad news is :( my camera is gone right now! Sad sad sadness. I freaked out cause well, how else am i supposed to share what i've been up to or the places where i've been. Anyways, the first crafty thing i've done was that i made a snood scarf thing (scarf/hood?). I've been wanting one since last year, lol and i finally had time to make one. A yard and something inches of yellow greyish jersey fabric with ends sewn together, and there it is, my own snooood! yay! here's a webcam pic

So school's almost over! Yay! Many are already done with school and i'm still stressing out the final weeks of my junior year. I really hate the fact that I get out later than most people, but it's okay because school can be fun sometimes...HA HA! Okay well hopefully summer will be very productive. Lots more blogging and promoting etsy, and not to mention more funventures with friends ;D But of course that's not until after my sister's wedding. Family from Australia are coming here! "Welcome to SDeezy baby."
Hollywood/Universal Studios, Seaworld, Disneyland, Bay Area, Vegas, and wherever else. Oh, the places we will go. I can't wait! Finally some excitement. I also can't wait for my sister's wedding! PHOTOBOOTH FUN yay! And being part of the bridal entourage (maid of honor, tyvm) we'll be making our entrance to the reception to the bubbly words and beats of Katy Perry's "California Gurls." Thas how we do it in CALI.. Mhmm ;)
I'm still finishing up her cake topper (it's love birds) so i'll show that in the next post.

i love necklaces

I love love love jewelry. (kind of why i make it) especially necklaces and earrings. Yup, those are my daily accessories. I try to wear bracelets, but since i'm petite it's usually too big or falls off. That's why i only wear bracelets on certain occasions. Same thing goes for rings. Though i really get tempted to buy rings, i dont because most of the time it wont fit me. So the above images are just pictures of a few of my current favorite necklaces from my ever growing necklace.. i guess you can call it, collection :P most of it handmade too!

My friend says i have some really random, yet really cute necklaces. Haha, I guess i just really like hanging really random yet really cute things on my neck (;

After getting inspired by LoucheLab's etsy shop and reading a tutorial on "how to paint your own design on a ceramic/porcelain plate", I had this sudden urge to paint one too. So a few days ago before dance practice, i went down to the thrift store near my house to pick up some plain white ceramic or porcelain dishes :P well once i got there, i got distracted and totally didn't ended up getting what i was planning to. i got these pretty finds instead..

i love these plates. haha.

SD ThreadShow at Horton

Thread, a popular 'showcase of emerging fashion' returned to San Diego on Sunday, April 11. It was my first time going to a threadshow since I didn't get to go last year. This time the event took place at Horton Plaza in an old Steve & Barry's department store, which made it easier for me to attend since it was at a venue i knew of. It was pretty fun, lots of vendors, fashion show, artwork, etc, and not to mention a huge crowd of people.

I got to see some pretty booths, one in particular was OhHelloFriend's. Ahh me and my best friend felt like such dorks cause we knew who she was through her blog. It was like meeting a famous person, haha! Her booth was super cute filled with super cute things.

My pictures were kind of lame. There were a lot of people at her booth so it was hard to capture everything ;p

I wasn't sure if i was going to buy anything but my boyfriend told me that i should support her, so i bought these:

I saw a lot more cute booths, but every picture i took was blurry (there were so many people pushing their way through the crowds, it was hard to get a good picture without someone accidentally walking in). So i took some pics at home.

This definitely inspired me to do a craft show sometime soon. Me and my best friend were talking about doing a craft day where we just sit, talk, make cute stuff and possibly sell at a show together. wooot! my boyfriend even said he'd be there to help. aww!

So my big sister, being the aspiring photographer she is, asked me one day if she could do just a little photoshoot with me and my boyfriend. Obviously I agreed (who wouldn't want to take cute photos with their loverboy..for free*) haha.

Here are a few of my favorites:

All of these photos were taken at the balboa park in SanDiego, CA. I think my sister did a good job (; she's always been really into photography. she usually asks me to edit the photos during postprocessing since i play around with photoshop and other programs like it a lot more, but i've taught her some stuff and she's actually the one that edited those. it's just a few edits, most likely brightened and level changes but i like it!

Yep, 7 things i love!
I got tagged by littleclouds so now I have to list down 7 things that i love love love
and then tag 7 other people too!

1. Flickr - I seriously love browsing through people's flickrs. I find a lot of inspiring pictures, which lead me to inspiring blogs.

2. Film cameras / Polaroids / Toy cams - My film/polaroid collection is still growing. Currently the proud owner of 3 polaroid cameras, 2 vintage film cameras, and 1 lomo fisheye. I want more! Kind of obsessed actually.

3. Snail mail - Mail is fun! I love getting mail, especially some really cute packages filled with goodies. I love it so much i even sometimes (most of the times) keep the envelopes. Plus i often reuse them too.

4. Movie nights - I love doing movie nights with friends. It's where inside jokes are made, where great bonding happens, and of course food (: my friends are fatties! woo.

5. Dessert - like pastries and freshly baked cookies. Mmmm!

7. Birthdays! - Happy birthday to me, weeee. Okay it was yesterday (01.27), but it was nice! My mentor at my internship surprised me with a huuuuuge happy birthday balloon and tulips, aww. Then later on in the day, my boyfriend's sister went to the office where i work and brought me flowers from him. "Smart boy, bringing it in to the office so everyone can see." - my mentor! Then towards the end of the day, i was surprised with my very own mini birthday cake. Cute!

Christmas is two days away, which means gathering up some last minute gifts. I decided to sew/make some gifts since I'm broke and I also can't really go out to get a gift without people being there :P Mhm so, I really like what I made. Kind of wanna keep it for myself, but I wont of course. Ever get that feeling though? ;D I'll post pictures of the handmade gifts after Christmas. That way no peaking for the curious ones. Now all I need to do is wrap them. I've been browsing through my favorite place of all time...flickr, and found some cute gift wrapping inspiration! I love some nicely wrapped packages just as much as the gift. Seriously, my friends would know. I even kept the gift wrap to someone elses present just because I liked it so much. <3

Been hiatus but now I'm back! Now that school's on winter break, it'll be easier for me to blog at least a little more than how I was blogging before. It'll also be a lot easier updating the shop and filling in with some good inspiration.

Well anyways, last saturday (the twelfth) was my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. We went downtown, ate lunch, watched a movie, shopped, ate dinner & had Ghiradelli ice cream for dessert. I didn't really get to take pictures, but it was still fun fun! (: And the greatest part, besides spending the whole day with him, he made me a longboard. Yep, he's a longboarder. Actually he's into almost everything really plus he's super crafty :D

I love birthdays!

Okay so although my bf's birthday was last week, I didn't really get the chance to post about it so here I am now!

At first he gave me his birthday wishlist with all of the items he's been wanting for months but after thinking about it, I wanted him to receive his presents in a more fun and surprising way.

So throughout the whole time last week I basically gave him a hard time pretending that I couldn't afford to get him what he wanted. But little did he know that I was planning a little scavenger hunt game for him in order to get his presents. The plan was that he would get one gift at a time, and each gift would contain one hint telling him where to go for the next one. The cool thing about it was that he had to go to several of our friends, so in a way they were apart of it as well :D

His presents:

1st place ribbon because he's the boy that's "1st place in my heart"; his favortie color m&m's; handmade candy card; skullface bandana bought from etsy; and new wheels he's been wanting for his longboard.

I've pretty much been away from blogging, that's why i decided to do a post with some of my current favorites i found through browsing (besides, lots of people do it)
So i went to the beach today! Unfortunately it was raining! and here's me thinking it would be blazing hot weather, i went wearing a tank top and shorts. San Diego weather is usually really great, but lately it's becoming indecisive (one day it's hot, one day it's raining, one day it's hot but at the same time raining)

First Sale!

Yesterday I sent out my first package and I have to admit I was pretty excited to have gotten a sale already. I wanted to make the package cute for the new owner of the lovely skeleton key necklace so I added a few small touches. I created a wooden tag which was pinned to an orange patterned ribbon, I placed the necklace into the orange envelope then tied it with hemp twine, then it all went (inluding my business card that I designed myself) into the brown handmade kraft bag. After that I wrapped it with a pretty light seafoam green tissue paper and tied it with yarn. I love packaging! Dont you?

This bike is adorable (: and it's made out of wood. Made from the people of LIKEaBike, it doesn't actually have any pedals as it's more for pushing (aka "walking bike"), especially because it's made for toddlers. Cute idea! I actually happen to like wood products and toys. Everytime we go to a toystore, I always browse through the wooden toys. To me it just seems more classy, but that's just my opinion. I would definitely get one of these one day for my future kiddos.

Inspiration Wall
So i was browsing around flickr.com looking for some pretty photos and inspiration, and i stumbled across a really wonderful group full of inspiration boards. I've seen this group before but it's still so fun to go through different photos of things that inspire people. I have an inspiration wall myself and i truly love adding different knick-knacks and findings, even tags or packaging items that are too cute to throw away.

So far it's filled with polaroid pictures, necklaces, wooden flowers, a chalkboard, small knick-knacks from my friends, and all sorts of random things that i love to look at.

Hello everyone!
First of all, my name is Jane, I’m 16 years old and I am somewhat new here in the blog world. Somewhat as in, I’m new to blogging here BUT not new at finding great inspiration and wanting to write about it. I wanted to start this blog because I was so so so inspired by the many bloggers, artists, and just lovely people out there who love what they do and do what they love (: Well anyways, I’m just here to write about whatever comes to mind or catches my eyes, and hopefully inspire others as much as I have been over the year. I've also started my own etsy shop to hopefully sell some of the things that I enjoy creating.
One of my favorite bloggers is ohhellofriend, and once upon a time ago she created this list of things she wanted to do in 1001 days. I loved that idea and did my own here. You can see all the random things I want to do (it’s also not finished because I know there’s plenty more I’d like to accomplish that I can’t think of now).
Another favorite is umbrellastand. I find her whole reason to create and sell the things she makes to be an inspiration. Being around the same age as her, it’s great to know that someone my age can think about the future, and how financially troubling it may be at times which is great to start now. I hope that we can become blogfriends soon! Haha.

Here are some random facts about me:
+ I love God, my family, my boyfriend Alan, and my great friends!
+ I spend lots and lots of time splurging through the wonderful world of Etsy.
+ I really want to become some sort of designer when I’m older, possibly an interior designer or graphic designer.
+ Dip `n dots is my favorite type of ice cream, mainly because it looks really pretty (:
+ San Diego, CA is where I call my hometown.
+ Although I love the west coast, I really want to live or at least have a house in the east coast.
+ I’m absolutely obsessed with birdcages.
+ I love giveaways and hope to do a lot very soon, especially items donated from other creative people & not just myself.
+ I’ve always been in love, but this time I really fell in love with packaging and details in packaging when I stumbled upon the flickr group nicepackage.
+ Dancing is another passion and I’ve been dancing since I was 9 years old.
+ I’m really into home décor.

+ I love taking polaroid pictures.
+ I’m often shy about what I post and what people will think, but I’m learning that it’s okay to just put my myself out there and let people think what they want. (I just hope its more positive than negative)
+ I really love meeting new creative people and making new friends.
